Zoloft also known as Sertraline, is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor or SSRI antidepressant that prescribed for the treatment of depression, social anxiety conditions, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Babies who were exposed to Zoloft in utero may be at an increased risk of developing severe birth defects. These side effects may include heart defects, lung defects, neural tube defects, abdominal and intestinal defects and malformations.
